Weekend Fair
Just got back from a Saturday Fair and it was my worst fair. Got lots of compliments and views but only sold a few things. At least I sold a print of my "Parrot Collage" with the cockatoos and Hyacinth Macaw. I had the original matted and framed and displayed and it was a big hit. One customer called it a painting. That's the best compliment that a colored pencil artist can receive! I've been able to achieve a very smooth, burnished appearance without any obvious pencil marks! So I'm totally on the right track with top notch colored pencils! Here's to continued improvement!

Sorry about the rough day. I know it's hard to even break even sometimes, but keep at it. Sometimes, the compliments mean even more than the sales... don't beat yourself up, it's the economy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you're right about that! Mostly I'm physically tired but not discouraged. It's not my first fair so it didn't bum me out but it was disappointing. And it was nice to get lots of great personal feedback. Thanks!
